My impulse response is that the platforms are significantly different. Also, the 5506 offers many (newer) options that weren't available before. I would imagine that the ACL's, network groups and policies would be easy to migrate but in an effort to maximize the power, efficiency and features of your new device it may be prudent to invest some time in tuning the device to your environment.
With that said, in networking.. anything is possible. If you drag and drop the configs from the 5505 to the 5506 it may work depending on the features you are using but it will likely require some tuning.

Sounds like a cool case. Richard's input is valid. Try running a diff on the running config against a known good config. Another command that is helpful when trying to t-shoot AAA is test aaa group radius %user %password legacy The results of the above command may be helpful in diagnosing your issue.

Hi Piotrek, Thank you for providing your results. Based on the information you have provided your device does not have the 3DES license. The 3DES / AES license is a requirement for the ASDM feature. Like RISSETH mentions below; missing any one of the requirements mentioned in the documentation can provoke problems. To obtain this license you can contact your account team or local Cisco partner. Hi Piotrek Żebrowski, I was reviewing your notes above and wanted to further develop your license status. You mentioned your device has DES encryption. The ASDM on an ASA 5506 requires strong encryption so a 3DES / AES license is required.
