I think I have a solution to this, just need to configure it and test it out. In short I am planning to connect the two L2 switches together via a L3 interface and run PTP through that, will need to test and keep you all updated.

Yes the bug is affecting me, it sends out alerts ever 1-2 min filling up the logs so that is why I am upgrading. As for why 10.6.X, at I figure if I have to upgrade might as well go for the latest one. So that is why 10.6, any objections?? I guess...
