Thanks everyone for the Help. I can now reach the internet when I plug my laptop into a port. I will post the working configs shortly for anyone in the future as a reference. now to fully understand all the steps that were rquired.

The internet service is a 50Mb/s connection.I was having a look yesterday at home if required I could switch out to a 1921 which seems to have a greater throughput form what I can tell.I had a 2821 sitting unused so I grabbed that one first.

Hi Paul, Back at work today. I will work through what you have attached.Vlan 30 is for a isolated Vlan not to be routed outside.Each of the switches will have their own user vlan (10,11 etc)

it gets a dhcp address (192.168.15.32) I could manually set it if it would make a difference.The switch can now ping the router gateway (192.168.15.1) but not 8.8.8.8
