When I run the show ip sockets from the CLI on a Cat 3500XL switch, I get some unexpected results. On 3 switches that are interconnected, there is a client device (10.2.73.45) that shows a connection to port 33521. These entries show up everyday when...
We have 2 servers in a cluster environment that are located in different areas of the building. Replication between servers requires a dedicated link between the boxes. Without having to physically run a long crossover cable between the servers, can ...
When viewing the syslog on a 3500 xl switch I have encountered messages that refer to port numbers that do not seem to exist on the switch. For example:Add address 000c.4114.3468, on port 54 vlan 1Delete address 0090.2707.b0e0, on port 54 vlan 1Ad...
We have a PIX 506 with 2 site-to-site VPNs and 1 connection to a webserver. We recently changed our internal IP addresses to 10.x.x.x. The 2 site-to-site VPNs require access to the same server (saprouter) by different organizations. We have reconnect...

The servers do connect to separate 3500xl switches (each switch has a GBIC connection to 2 redundant 6509s w/ dual power supplies. The servers actually have 2 network connections each (1 is visible on the LAN and the dedicated replication link is not...
To all, thank you for your responses. We recently implemented the 2 routers by placing them in the same VLAN, applying bandwidth statements to make the frame connection the favored route and are using EIGRP between the 6509's and the routers.
Peter,When you mentioned that there should be a channel between the two switches, are you referring to the Cat 3500s? To clarify, we are actually using the Catalyst 3500XL series switches, not the 3550s.Thank you for your previous response.Regards,Do...
