Hi, On Cisco switch-series 6800, what is the default policy for QsS on incoming packets on L3 links. Does the "switch" trusts the existing DSCP marking or we need to configure "mls trust" separately on each L3 interface to trust DSCP. Any link on cisco.com? Please share the experience. Thanks Rick as Jon said redis-internal command is working! In the future we need to check some prefixes other than just the default, hence the conditional route-map is configured. Thanks for help! subodh

Jon Thanks for your replay!! It is working once this redis. command was in. But I thought we'wd need it only when we redis between two routing protocols one of which is BGP. On this router default-prefix is coming from IBGP peer admin dist (200). Similar conf is working on adjacent router where Default-route prefix is learned by EBGP peer(Peering to ISP and admin dist 20) without any redis command. I configured a static default route with admin dist as 199 and with "no redis" - is was working default route got installed in OSPF, then I changed admin dist to 201 then default-route disappeared from OSPF. Earl, Thanks for reply. There is no redistribution between IBGP and OSPF. OSPF process is used to generate default-route for OSPF cloud and this router is the exit point. Similar configuration is working when BGP is "external-BGP" and not IBGP. Not sure if there is any basic prerequisite to have conditional-default-route installed in OSPF and that we are missing here. Hi, We have IBGP and OSPF running on a router. Learning default route via IBGP and also getting installed in the routing table. sh ip route B* 0.0.0.0/0 [200/0] via *.*.*.*, -----------------------> Default route getting installed in routing table Trying to inject default route in OSPF process by following command: default-information originate always route-map Default Route-map and prefix configuration : route-map Default permit 10 match ip address prefix-list Default-Route ip prefix-list Default-Route seq 10 permit 0.0.0.0/0 Default route is not getting installed in OSPF database even though default route is available in the routing table. If the "route-map Default" is removed from the statement the it looks like this : "default-information originate always" and it works. Hi, In the case, when Light weight AP is broadcasting more than one SSID ( with WLC is configured with associated VLAN interface) how does the WLC differentiates DHCP requests those are coming from different SSID before forwarding to DHCP server? Does LWAPP/802.11 frame that is received by WLC has SSID field in the header that WLC can use to forward the DHCP request. Any link on cisco.com / or frame capture available. Thanks in advance. Deepak, As Rick explained you can tune the routing by different methods. Also CEF load-balancing per packet can be useful Rick's earlier post explains the same. So in short, theoretically if you have many sources to many destinations per packet load balancing is the way to go in my opinion. Also assuming the packet size is fairly random and not line - one flow is almost packet size is almost 1500 and other is very light like 100 ... HTH Cheers!! Subodh

Thanks for Reply Vasili. What I was looking for, if the uplink bandwidth between FEX device two NX 6k is say 20 G. If we replace FEX by a Switch -uplink bandwidth is 20 G ( 10G + 10G VPC - TRUNK) connected to two NX 6K devices. Will there be any difference in the server access as the bandwidth is same in either case ( 20 G) We can expect performance difference, in case if the communication between FEX and 6K is better than VPC configured for switch. As bandwidth variable is constant - 20 G combined (10G + 10G) Any thoughts ... Any stat - numbrs available that can throw some light on two setups..

vishwanathgautham, Not sure why you are configuring port-channel down to a single server-access port. Then if you want to configure port--channel you will need to configure similar configuration on the server side as well, you may want to "team-of NIC" (with correct configuration for). Dan, Looks like points are coming inline now. As you said notebook connected to this port works fine, this back's up the point that switch port may be good. Cable is almost reaching 100 meters max allowed distance in theory. Pair of cables C,D is showing open. Not sure why one pair length is 94 meter and other pair is 87. One thing you can try is, if you have access to switch closet, try directly connecting this device to switch with a good quality new patch chord. This will eliminate all other variables on the table. Hi, If we connect a FEX device to 2 X 6004 Nexus switches with uplinks to each 6004 with VPC as compared to a Cisco L3/L2 switch connected to 2 X 6004 Nexus with trunked-uplinks to each 6004 with VPC, what could be the impact on network speed performance for the hosts connected to FEX or switch ports, especially if the network is to perform in low latency. Access ports for FEX and Cisco L3/L2 switch is same 1 Gbps-copper. In both cases the uplink from FEX or switch to 6004 is same (10 G + 10 G ) 20 Gbps. FEX - Sounds like extending the fabric back-plane of parent 6004 way down to FEX device but still bandwidth is bottle-neck? Is the protocol with which Nexus 6004 communicates with FEX over VPC- port-channel better than the how it would communicate with VPC-port-channel trunk-port with Cisco switch? Dan, If you connect a notebook to this switch port is it communicating with different speeds? ( speed, duplex, auto)? Remote possibility, do you feel there is duplicate IP conflicting with this device. Is the interface clean - error, CRC reliability etc I faced similar problem in the past resolved after the physical cabling was replaced by new CAT 6E.. Not sure if you have cable check or similar command on the switch. Hope this helps.. Thanks,
