6509 Switch utilizing heavy process

We have two 6509 switches, using VSS. When I do sh proc cpu, it shows 70% to 90% utilization, which is too high I think for that kind of switch.If anyone can help me in finding out, why it's utilizing that heavy process, appreciate it.
