Hi As long as you have the same configuration on the switches in a vPC pair, there is no problem. It is not a requirement to have the same chassis type in a vPC pair. Before migration do ensure that you have Graceful Consistency Check Enabled. Thanks Vivek Ruhil

Hi Vel The domain ID is encoded in the last octet and the trailing 2 bits of the previous octet of the MAC address. So your understanding is correct. My recommendation is to choose a domain-id whose HEX value doesn't come out to be same. And as such domain-id is just a value you can choose it to be anything. Regards RV

Hi Josh Yes now providers are changing towards Ethernet handoffs but some providers would make this decision on the bandwidth requirement per site, for obvious reasons. Regards

Hi I'm not really sure what you are looking for, have you checked the Data Sheets for these devices. As for, L2 redundancy protocol, you can have HSRP, VRRP or GLBP as the First Hop redundancy protocol.

Hi This is happening because your remote site doesn't have a route for the internal network I.e. 10.0.0.0 There are two options : 1 on the other end add a route for the 10 network towards this site. 2 nat you 10 network to the 192 network on the Cisco Switch. If you dont have to hide your lan network from remote sites I would encourage using option 1

Hi Some points for your consideration 1. With all CE routers having the same AS Number: a. Biggest advantage is you don't need to think or even bother about maintaining a list of BGP AS numbers per site and ensure that the SP uses "as-override" on their PE routers. Which they do. b. This is the most widely deployed option. 2. With all CE routers having the different AS Number: a. You will have to maintain a list and manage AS numbers across all sites, if the number of sites are huge its a hectic and you will have to stay within the private range, though, the private range is huge so no worries there. b. The advantage this offers is that supposing you have a routing loop or some routing problem, you will be able to look at your bgp routes and figure out which site is misbehaving since you have site dependent AS numbers in the AS Path.So, this option basically allows you to keep a track of all the sites and easily identify any problems in then network. c. Many Customers do use this option also, since it is giving any added advantage of tracking.

Hi Mr. Gilbert What you are trying to achieve is, per my understanding, is to be able to connect to your router via remote VPN access and you have a software client on your PC. This is usually achieved through our ASA product line. Although, for the router I could find the below link that tells us how to setup a remote access vpn. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/vpn_modules/6342/configuration/guide/6342vpn4.html However, the link also states that you need a client on the PC to use this. Hi With the state keyword you are checking the status of the IP SLA Operation, meaning if the SLA operation is successful or not. With the reachability keyword you are checking wether the IP address (in destination field) specified in the IP SLA is reachable or not. So, in the above configuration you are achieving the same behavior with both keywords because it is a simple icmp echo.
