The codec in VSOM is set to H_264. We are running version 7.12.1, which I think is current, so there shouldn't be compatibility issues (one reason we recently upgraded VSOM is because we were on an older version that was NOT compatible with the vivoteks). Yes, it does seem to be that if you move the PTZ, the screen comes up quicker, but it's just odd that you have to do that to get a picture and I was wondering if there was some way I could configure things differently to not run into that.

Not sure if this belongs here or with Vivotek. We have a couple of the SD9362-EHL PTZ's. When you first switch to them in SASD, the screen is basically all black except for some outlines. After a few moments, it will clear up. The firmware is up-to-date and our VSOM and SASD are version 7.12.1. Any suggestions?

I think I had a similar thread to this a couple of years ago, so forgive me, but it was very old, plus I think I MUST be missing something, so I'll try again. So we are running vsom 7.12.1. For a long time I've maintained a Windows 8.1 machine because from what I can tell, you cannot get to "Image Controls" in VSOM on a browser newer than IE 11 on Windows 8.1. I realize that there is HTML5 video available, but I'm needing access to image controls so that images can be adjusted, etc. If I go into IE (or other browsers) on windows 10, the image control tab is not even there. I *THOUGHT* I could get away from Windows 8.1 by having a Win 10 host and then running IE 8.1 on a VM, but nope - I tried Hyper-V and Virtual box and in both cases, when I try to get a video window up in vsom, the browser crashes. So can anyone here tell me, because from what I've seen, there isn't a way to do video controls in SASD, but maybe I'm missing something since we are just recently updated to 7.12.1 - how am I to get the functionality without having an old OS? I think you may very well be right as I think I experienced this several years ago when we installed some other newer cameras. The thing that's interesting is I have these issue now with 2 cameras (different models) that are newer, however, at another location i have cameras set with higher settings and they don't do this, so I'm not sure if there is a network issue. This is how I have the settings on one of the cameras getting the artifacts: Low Video Quality: low Field Of Views: N/A Media Type: H_265 Format: NTSC Framerate: 5 Bitrate: 256 Bitrate Mode: CBR Resolution: 1280x960 Transport Type: UDP_UNICAST Predicted Bitrate: N/A Any suggestions to try in particular?

It turned out to be the C++ redistributable - specifically 2013. We were just installing SASD from downloading it from VSOM, and for some reason, that did not come bundled with the C++ redistrib, so it wasn't working. Took quite awhile to figure out that first day, but pushing that out to affected systems fixed them.

We just posted our first of the model 8620 camera. Upon it coming up, I noticed occasional artifacts at the bottom. After looking at the camera directly through the browsers, I've noted that the artifacts only appear when looking at the camera via SASD, not when viewing the camera directly. Our VSOM / SASD is current at 7.12.1, and I just updated the camera firmware to the latest as well. Any suggestions? See example of what I'm seeing in image below:

Last night our servers were upgraded from 7.8 through the steps to get up to 7.12. Generally everything is working well, but finding that especially on Windows 7 (and 8.1) when starting sasd, it gives an error that MSVCR1230.dll is missing and to try reinstalling. Near as I can tell, that is part of the MS C++ redistributable. I've tried repairing, reinstalling, etc, but no dice. Any suggestions? Additionally, though it is working fine on most systems, we have at least one Windows 10 system where it starts up but then all you get is a white screen where you would typically view cameras. Suggestions appreciated. Thanks

I'm not on the latest version of VSM, but as I have a number of templates already, I'm not convinced that has anything to do with it.
In any case, after some time had passed, it finally retained 21 days instead of 14. I guess I was thinking that it was just take on 7 days to the existing 14, but it looks like instead it started over at 1 and then kept going until we had 21, so it appears to be resolved.

I was attempting create a new template that simply had a longer retention time, so I made a copy of an existing template and changed the numbers. Just for example, it was from 14 day to 21 day. So after a bit, I checked in on VSOM expecting to see recordings past 14 days, but I didn't. Am I missing something? Would that have to be made from scratch? Seems to defeat the purpose of a template if so.

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, just wanted to make sure. From what I can tell, adding Vivotek Cameras appears to require 7.9.0. I am at 7.8.0, so I wanted to be sure there wasn't a driverpack that could be added to allow adding them without the full upgrade first.
