Hi Folks, What is the deep dive difference between the service edge optimized cards and the packet transport line cards in the ASR 9000? I know that QoS is the difference in general, for example, the service edge optimized has advanced QoS features while the Packet Transport line cards has basic QoS features but I want to know some more details please. Thanks

Hi Folks, We have a secondary FWSM which has 50 Contexts, while the primary one has 100 Context. so the failover is not working. Is there away to downgrade the first one to 50 Context without paying extra cost. I mean I want to do the reverese thing here. I am just wondering if anyone has idea of how to make this match happen. Primary FWSM ------------------------------------------------------ Maximum Interfaces : 1000 Inside Hosts : Unlimited Failover : Active/Active VPN-DES : Enabled VPN-3DES-AES : Enabled Cut-through Proxy : Enabled Guards : Enabled URL Filtering : Enabled Security Contexts : 100 GTP/GPRS : Disabled BGP Stub : Disabled Service Acceleration : Disabled VPN Peers : Unlimited ------------------------------------------------------

That was Awesome link! Thanks indeed. So can you please confirm if I am following the F2 + FEX rule Again, I have only one Nexus 7009 and 4 x N2K , so I have two F2 cards on the Nexust 7009. Here is my connectivity plan: 1st N2K to port 1 on the first F2 1st N2K to port 1 on the second F2 2nd N2K to port 2 on the first F2 2nd N2K to port 2 on the second F2 3rd N2K to port 3 on the first F2 3rd N2K to port 3 on the second F2 4rth N2K to port 4 on the first F2 4rth N2K to port 4 on the second F2 So eventually , I am planning to use one group (4 ports) on each F2 card for all the connectivity to those N2K Switches. Also, I will have a total of 4 port channels .. right ? 1 Port channel for each N2K I will appreciate your feedback!

Hi , I have two N7K-F248XP-25 going to be installed in one Nexus 7009 and I have 4 N2K-C2248TP-1GE (48x100/1000-T+4x10GE) . In simple way, I have two F2 line cards within one N7K and 4 N2Ks. The N7K will be used as a parent switch and it has NX-OS version 6.0 So I want to connect the 4 N2K to the two F2 line cards in a redundant fasion, can some one tell me the best practice of how to connect those N2Ks? I have read somewhere that I can only use two ports from each 4 shared ports but I am not sure if this is true. I will appreciate any input or a link. Thanks

I had a UCS workshop this morning with one of my clients, and he asked me if there is any way to develop a script to remove the profle from one of the blades and re-assign another profile to the same blade. Thanks for your input in advance!

In the topology services map, the color status of the router takes long time to move from red to green and vice versa. i have already configured the time interval in the fault monitor poller setting to 6minutes but the only thing reflected the little mark at the top of the icon itself. anyhow the topology service still believe that the devices are unreachable. i have waited almost 45 minutes and nothing happened. please let me known the trick to make the topology services act more quicker . Hi Folks, I just would like to confirm if the ASR 1001 with IP Base license can support the normal BGP features such as remote-peering IPV4, Local-AS. I am not looking for advanced features such as Route Reflectors, VPLS, L2 VPN, etc. Regards, Ismail

Hi All, I want to chose the right UPS product for 7 x WS-C3750X-48PF-L in one stack. The Cisco data sheet says 1100W AC, however, I am only connecting 20 IP Phones, each phone will consume around 12.2 Watts. So in this case, How many watts would I need for the whole 7 switches in the stack ? in other words, only the first switch in the stack will be connected to 20 IP Phones, but the remaining switches in the stack will be Data Only thought the remaining switches in the stack are capable of delivering a full PoE. You may also help in letting me know the power consumption of the WS-C3750X-48PF-L with only data connected to it. Thanks for your help in advance Ismail

Thanks Edis for the help, I am just trying to understand the Q&A for the 3750X , Q. Are mixed stacks supported? A. It depends. The Cisco StackWise and StackWise Plus solutions are flexible enough to allow you to: • Stack any Cisco Catalyst 3750 switch in the same stack (hardware mixed stack) • Stack any Cisco IOS Software feature set in the same stack (software mixed stack) One exception is the new LAN Base models being introduced with the Cisco Catalyst 3750-X Series, which can stack only with other LAN Base models. What Cisco website meant by Software Mixed Stack? Thanks, Ismail
