Running a 5508 with 8.5.151.0... the locally generated Web Authenticate Certificate is about to expire. A number of years ago, I had to re-generate that same certificate on another system. If I recall correctly, it was simply a matter of hitting th...
Using autonomous APs, we often place an indoor AP behind a non-root bridge. I want to do the same with a 1552, but there is some working in the design guide which causes me concern..."It is not possible to connect a local, FlexConnect mode AP or a ...
We have a number of 1552e's deployed as RAP / MAPs, using a 5508 WLC. All those are working fine.I have a few requirements for an outdoor access point... not a RAP or MAP, but just a simple outdoor AP. I assume that if I use a 1552e for that requi...
I have a number of 1552e APs connected to a 5508 WLC. We are using local MAC filtering to enable the 1552's to connect to the WLC. I have a several more 5508's in different locations, and can be used for back-up in the event the primary WLC fails....
I need to increase the AP license for the WCS. As I review the process, it looks pretty simply. However, after uploading the license it says to reboot the WCS. I don't see any menu selection on the WCS to reboot it. I could always perform a har...
I have mounted many access points to I-beams, in warehouse environments. Many of them use internal antennas. They have all worked well, with no coverage issues.
Sometimes you have limited choices on what, where, and/or how you can mount an AP.
I assume you are attempting all this from the Ethernet port connection, and not over-the-air? If you are attempting to convert non-root to root over-the-air, I doubt you're going to be successful. You need to be logged into the radios from either ...
The configuration software Cisco uses for autonomous radios is pretty lame and not user friendly at all. Always has been.
It's been a long time since I've had to work my way through one of their configurations, but based on your screen shots, I woul...
Yes, you can reverse the roles. You need to change the non-root to root first, and let it come back up and stabilize ... then change the root to non-root. I assume you have static IPs and not using DHCP ?
A bridge is a wirless connection between 2 points (such as 2 buildings). One end is the root, the other end is the non-root. You can connect those without accommodating any wireless clients, OR you can connect the 2 ends AND any wireless clients.
