I have several IP Cameras which require one of two scenarios to seemingly work properly on Catalyst 3850U switches. 1.  configure power inline 2-event 2.  (I've been told by a customer) that if I force the port to negotiate POE via LLDP, the 2-event command is not necessary.   I can't seem to find anywhere how to force the switches to use LLDP for the negotiation.  I'd like to know how as I'm troubleshooting another issue with different cameras requiring 60W and am told by the manufacturer that as long as the switch is using LLDP, it should work.   Thanks for any guidance. ... Hello, We have some C3850 switches all of which have sufficient power supplies to support UPOE.  I have a couple questions about the configuration of POE. 1. Is there anything special I need to do to enable the UPOE functionality or does it just happen? 2.  Is there a comprehensive list somewhere of all the Cisco IOS commands and their descriptions?  I've read: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3850/software/release/16-3/configuration_guide/b_163_consolidated_3850_cg/b_163_consolidated_3850_cg_chapter_01011011.html but it doesn't explain what things like 'POE High Availability' actually mean.   Thank you! ... I have a video application using Multicast and have been given a VLAN to use.  Hardware is Catalyst C3850 switches.  All on the same VLAN.  The customer requested that management interfaces on the switches be configured on the same VLAN as everything else so all addresses are on VLAN 1100 (their assignment). Multicast works fine on the flat portion of the network.  IGMP Snooping was enabled by default and I've set our core switch as the Multicast Querier for VLAN 1100 and set the other switches to look to it as querier. The customer now wants to use the application on their network which requires Multicast to be routed.  Near as I can tell, there isn't any configuration changes I need to make to get it working.  I did find that once they get Multicast routing running it may be desirable to remove my querier. Question 1:  Am I missing something that is needed on my portion of the network? He's trying to set the router to PIM-Sparse per our product requirements.  I see that my learning mode is pim-dvmrp though I don't think I have the ability to change it until multicast routing is enabled.
