You could extend Python with C/C++ or Java classes to support TAPI/JTAPI in theory but I haven't seen any samples or documentation. There are nothing from Cisco as far as I know.

Lua uses regex like any other scripting languages (Perl, Python). Just google for "Lua regex" for many examples.You can use any Lua online interpreter to test your regex: https://replit.com/languages/lua
