Thank you for the details explanation.   I have been able to confirm that my current mobility express controller is running 8.5.135.0.   I have no idea what the new 3802e is running.  I have done a factory resent on it. but don't know what what firmware level it is running.   Attached is a screen shot of console.   I have been able to download 8.10.105, but haven't applied it yet.   Is there a set by step procedure you can point me to, to use a TFTP server to upload 8.10.105 to both the controller and the new 3802e ? ... Haydn, Unfortunately, you are correct.  I am BEYOND dissapointed in Cisco to find this information out.  To gain BASIC MULTI AP ADD CAPABILITY I HAVE TO HAVE AN ACTIVE CISCO SUPPORT CONTRACT!!!!!! THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!! If I would have know this, I would have made other buying decisions prior to investing so much in Cisco AP's. Luckily, I got in contact with an amazing Cisco Support rep, who also agreed that this was egregious and provided me the updated firmware to 8.5.  Needless to say I am going to cling to this code for dear life. Is it possible to download AP images WITHOUT a Cisco support contract? Haydn, THANK YOU SO MUCH for the information.  I think you may have solved my problem. I was trying to add the 1815i as a subordinate AP, but I see that I won't be able to do that. Is there a list of subordinate AP's that I can add to my 2802i?
