CLASS 5 SWITCHES

Is there any Cisco equipment that can replace the traditional class 5 switch, or Mobile operators switches. I read about Cisco BTS10200 and Cisco PGW2200 but the picture seems not clear. I want a situation where I can replace the Ericsson switches

with Cisco switches in a mobile operator environment.

Both the PGW and the BTS are capable of replacing a class 5 switch. The BTS is refferred to as a "classless' switch and is what is generally used for mobile implementations.

The BTS supports SIP, MGCP, SS7, H323 and can route calls between all these protocols.

See here for possible implementations:

Hope this helps
