Hi, if you do R2 or ISDN, then answer/disconnect supervision are not a problem at all.

You need this for analog lines.

For prepaid calling cards on analog lines I could recommend you - Cisco 26xx with FXO cards (a bit expensive though), Quintum (though their high-density second-generation devices have some capacity problems), AddPac (Cisco style interface) and Audiocodes. I have worked with all of them (except AudioCodes) and can guarantee you - their work stable.

If you are using a 5300 Cisco with a channel bank to convert from analog to R2/ISDN, do not blame the Cisco, blame the channel bank !!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Teodor,

what particular model of cisco 26xx with FXO card you are referring with? We work with quintum but voice quality is not acceptable that is the reason we migrated to cisco as5300.

By the way, can you help us about the issue on channel bank? Customers is unhappy with the service because of disconnect issue like no calls connected however the system bill the customer. There is no disconnect supervision is taking care.

John, you have to tell me how many FXO ports do you need on a unit.

The Cisco 38xx series support high-density FXO ports (up to 56). I can't tell you prices, I am a tech.

About Quintum, believe me or not, but I have so far more than 400 (four hundred) configurations and "troubleshootings" on them and I can tell you for sure - Quintum DSPs do not offer "slugish voice".

About the channel bank... Are you the same John (Chennupati) who sent me a manual of his channel bank some time ago?

If you want assistance on Quintum - contact me off the list, this one is Cisco related (I do not know why Quintum did not open their own forum).

Teodor, Chennupati is our business partner.

We are interested of buying cisco with analog ports for our current voip prepaid card platform. At least 16 or 32 FXO cards will do.

We do have Quintum running about 8 gateways but customers are not satisfied and unhappy with the quality and service.

I already added you in the MSN. Hope to catch you and we can discuss more on this issue.
