I have a new BE 6000 someone ordered from CDW. The UCS is p/n UCS-E160D-M2/K9.
According to the setup documentation I should be able to attach a VGA monitor and USB keyboard and be well on the way.
However, when I attach the monitor there is no display. I tried different monitors, same result.
I also notice when trying several different keyboard that the one with LED's did not light up.
When I start the system the big LED on the left blinks during startup then finally goes solid amber.
I believe the unit must have been defective so I RMA'd it but the replacement BEHAVES the SAME!
I cannot figure out how I could be doing anything wrong but just can't figure out what I am missing. Cisco refuses to support it without a smartnet which has been order for the 2nd unit but has not yet been issued.
The only clue is that in the documentation I an told to use the KVM cable provided. There was no KVM cable in the first unit or the 2nd. I found documentation on other UCS models saying to use the KVM or just plug in the keyboard & monitor.
CDW was supposed to have done some pre-configuration and I am guessing that may be wherein the problem lies.
If anyone has had a similar experience and can share I would greatly appreciate it!
