Cisco SPA504G phones do not auto answer when paged

The situation I am dealing with is a small office of appx (10) SPA504G phones. When the phones use the paging options between office the phones do not auto answer. The information about the office -   Running an IP-PBX with a stated Asterisk based system. The phones page are connecting via the *96 code however only ring when connected. I have turned on the Auto Answer configuration. I am at a loss what to look at next. Any information will greatly be appreciated.

Your description is somewhat unclear. Who is paging phones ? An originating phone directly ? Or Asterisk ? Moreover, what you mean "paging" ? Are you speaking about multicast paging feature of the phone, or you have just auto-answered call in the mind ?

 

According description, it sounds like Asterisk is calling (standard call, not paging) target phone.
