Suddenly my Cisco SPA525g is no longer displaying my line extensions next to the buttons. Whenever, I pick up the phone, there is no dial tone. Also, I am no longer receiving calls. I tried calling my phone provider to see if they could reconfigure the IP address to see if that was the problem (a suggestion by a Cisco tech) and they said they couldn't help me. Any suggestions?

Missing line extensions may be caused by configuration lost. No dial tone mean phone is not ready to originate call - and it may be caused by lost configuration as well.
So the advice is imminent - restore configuration or configure phone from scratch.

I apologize. I am not a technical person at all. How do I do this?

So sorry, but there's nothing like "single configuration that fit all".
Phone configuration must follow requirements of your voice service provider, network environment and your wishes. We know nothing about it, thus we can't advise.
Also note I'm just guessing - lost configuration is hypothesis, not verified fact.
Contact the same person that configured your phone previously. Or ask any local IT specialist for help.

Could you please share the device SPA525g is communicating with. Is it s Cisco UC500 series device.
Also, what do you see on the display of the phone? any message or any error.

Hi Kelsey,
I'm having this issue as well. My phone is connected wirelessly, so in order to "reconfigure the IP" as the tech tells you, here is how you do that.
1. Go to the menu by pressing the button just above the mute button. ( I have a SPA525G)
2. Go to Network Configuration
3. Select WiFi configuration
4. Select Wifi protected setup
5. Select Push button configuration.
6. Hit "Select"
7. Press the WPS button on your router or modem. This will automatically attach the phone to the wifi network.
This may not be achievable if you are hard-wired into the phone. I more so wanted to comment on this because my phone is indeed having many issues with losing network connection. This just recently started, and it appears other people are having issues too.
