problem with SPA 112

I purchased one of the above. It's connected to a switch which is in turn connected to a Sagem router. Belgacom forced our ISP EDPNET to put all the Sagems into Bridge Mode as they plan to implement Vectoring.

This means we are now on PPPoE and we no longer have analog phone service via EDPNET and the Sagem.

I connected it yesterday, and after a long battle got it set up and working.

Today, we can call out, but when someone tries to call our number, the phone doesn't ring!

The telephone is a Medion base with 2 additional handsets

What is wrong?

so your spa112 has an internet accessable address (the sagem router is in bridge mode). or is it natted?

usually inbound calls failing is due to firewall blocking the inbound sip messages on port 5060.  You can check the logs on the firewall to see if it's blocking.  (you may need to enable logging)

enable nat keepalives and nat mapping under line 1 will keep the inbound firewall session open for the inbound traffic.

or you can do port forwarding on the router. forward sip udp 5060-5080, and rtp udp - 16000-17000

hope this helps,

Dan
