I have an SPA 3000 whose FXO port is connected to a totally manual phone system. In other words, you go off hook and wait for an operator.
I found that, although the manual PBX is generating 24 volts waiting for an off-hook condition, the SPA 3000 returns 504 Service Unavailable. When I bridge the SPA3000 extension to a trunk with dial tone, The SPA goes off hook and dials as requested. Which doesn't help me much, since the operator needs to process the call.
I've not seen anything that says not to wait for dial tone (as the Audiocodes device offers) nor do I know how to express this in the dial plan.
If anybody has done this, I'd appreciate hearing your solution.
I realized that the device is EOL, but I'm not asking for anything but information.
