SPA514G - instead of display name user ID is shown on the screen.
it is a serious bug, I do not understand why nobody noticed this before and why it has still not been solved with all the firmware updates, I have the latest one.

I assume because it doesn't affects others.
As you disclosed no details of neither phone's configuration nor SIP INVITE, there's nothing more we can say about it.

which details do you need?
It just does not work, it is a standard configuration, but the phone displays the "user ID" field instead of "Display name" field, which according to the manual should be displayed on the phone screen.
Display name field like this has no function at all.
I am sure everybody has this, including you, but nobody pays attention to this.

Phone screen have different states. You didn't disclosed what screen you are speaking of.
On particular screen, there is so many fields. You didn't disclosed what field contain THE NUMBER you are speaking of about.
I would not like to enumerate all possible screen states and fields on them.
Just blind shot.
If it is about idle state screen and Line Key description, then neither Display Name nor User ID but Short Name is shown.
If it doesn't respond you then disclose what screen and what field on it upsets you.

I am not talking about the number, I am talking about the name.
In the telephone you have several telephone lines, each line has its own user ID, auth ID and own registration with a different user ID or auth ID.
You can find then in the EXT1, etc screen of the phone configuration with the admin rights.
You have there
Display Name:
Password:
Auth ID:
etc.
The "short name" is filled in by $USER in the Phone configuration for this line, and there is not other information about filling in this field, so I guess this is why it take the USER ID, but I need to know what should be the value in this filed to display the DISPLAY NAME, a generic notification, like $USER, I can fill in there whatever I want of course, but I would like to use the generic field name.
Thanks in advance.

There are just few variables you can refer (see documentation for full list).
No one contain Display Name taken from any Ext 1 section as far as I know. Thus you need to write here anything you wish to be displayed.

Unfortunately I could not find any documentation on those variables. I am not sure if it even exists.
Further e.g. here
http://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/cisco-spa501g/
you can see concerning the "Display name" field:
c. In the “Subscriber Information” section:i. Set the “Display Name” field to the name you want to appear on the Phone display
Oherwise as I wrote earlier, the "Display name" field has no function at all, or at least it is completely unclear what it is supposed to be used for.

http://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/cisco-spa501g/ is not phone documentation in any way. It's third-party how-to document claimed "for informational purposes". Complain to 3cx according information provided in their text.
From true phone's documentation:
Short Name - A short label shown on the IP Phone Screen for Line Key ...
Variables are not mentioned here. Even $USER, the well known one, is undocumented.
You should not use undocumented features, but if you decide to use them, you are on your own.
