SPA525G2 default and custom provisioning

On the SPA525G2, there is a parameter for both firmware updates (Upgrade Rule) and for auto-provisioning from a server (Profile Rule). I cannot seem to find documentation, including the spa525g2 admin guide, on how to point the phone to request a default config file as well as a custom config file.

I am able to point the phone to a url that serves a default config file, and within that file have a new Profile_Rule url. But this solution prevents the phone from ever checking the default config file again. Example below:

initial profile rule for default.cfg: http://www.example.com/cisco/default.cfg

(default.cfg contains <Profile_Rule ua="na">http://www.example.com/cisco/spa$PSN/$MAC.cfg</Profile_Rule>)

This allows me to pull a default config file, and follow up with a custom config based on make and mac of the device. However, since I am overwriting the Profile Rule, I am preventing the device from checking for a default config file on reboot.

Is there a way to configure the phone to request a default config file as well as a custom config file, without overwriting the initial Profile parameter?

After further searching, I was able to find an ata provisioning doc that answered alot of my questions, including this one. I hope this helps anyone looking for similar answers:
