Hello all
I have a UC560 latest version , CCA 2.2.6
we have an overhead paging system(valcom) we want to integrate the paging with the phone system. we have 2 zones for paging so we need to send the CO signal to the valcom and then press 1 or 2 for zone one or two
we usually connect the valcom to an FXO port and it works, this is not the case with the UC560, when we do so we get a fast busy right away and nothing happens.
if i plug it in to an FXS it will ring forever
we tested all the wiring on the valcom and it is properly wired
do you now how do i need to configure the valcom to get it to properly work ?
thanks

The V-2006A should integrate with any FXO port. I may recommend testing the V-2006A with an analog phone or buttset to ensure it is working correctly. When off-hook, you should hear an intercom dial tone from the V-2006A. This intercom dial tone should appear as outside dial tone to the UC560.
I would assume you tried to follow either of the Configuration Guides (MGCP or H.323) on that page.....?
If programming the FXO was unsuccessful, I would recommend using the FXS > V-9970 solution.
Thanks,
Adam

The multi-zone Valcom page control unit will not interface with the FXS port on the UC560. Please install a Valcom V-9970 (Station Level Page Adapter) between the FXS port and the Valcom page control unit.
The V-9970 is designed to answer the incoming call between the first and second ring. The unit will provide a pre-announce tone meaning it has answered. Upon hearing this tone, simply enter your zone number and page.
There will be a 2-pair connection between the V-9970 and the Valcom page control unit.
V-9970 'Signal Out' > w/bl pair on Valcom page control punch block
V-9970 'User Contact > w/o pair on Valcom page control punch block
The connections above may be found on the following page:

Hope this works!

It does work i have one more question though !
Usually with ISRs like 2901, 2951, 2800, etc we get the valcom paging working using only a single FXO port
could we do the same on the uc560 ? we don't have any device in between and it works great, multi zone pages
thanks

Sorry. I misunderstood.
We have two FXO Configuration Guides on the following page, depending on the
whether MGCP or H.323 is used:

thank you Adam, the link you just sent is great
so just to sumarize
for UC500 in order to get the Valcom paging system to work we need a Valcom V-9970 between the our Valcom system (V-2006A) and the FXS port on the UC560. that's the only way for us to get the V-2006A to work or is there any other way we can get the V-2006A to work with an FXO
I have tried every config possible on either FXO or FXS on the UC560 and by itself it doesn't work. so i think i really need the V-9970 and then we will use an FXS port. correct ?
