My workplace just upgraded our AnyConnect VPN client to version 3.1.04072. I am using a Windows 7 Pro 64-bit machine.
The VPN works fine from Windows. However, I also use two different virtual machines via Oracle VirtualBox. One of them, running CentOS 6.5, still connects to the internet just fine. The other one, Lubuntu 13.10 no longer connects to the internet after the upgrade when AnyConnect VPN is in use.. If I disconnect from VPN, the Lubuntu VM connects to the internet as before. Both VMs are are using NAT.
What could be happening here that is preventing the Lubuntu VM from getting internet access when AnyConnect is running?
The Lubuntu machine does have a second "Host-Only" adapter, but the problem persists even if I disconnect that adapter.

I found the solution to my problem. The workaround described at https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/10864 worked for me, namely invoking the following in my host OS:
VBoxManage modifyvm "VM name" --natdnshostresolver1 on
