Hi,
Hope someone can bring some light into this. Long story short ... I want to migrate a license(AnyConnect) from one ASA to another. The license is already assigned to the serialnumber of motherboard of the new ASA. However if I try to update the activation key I will get the message "activation key is not valid for this system". So we were told that we are missing a contract. So we bought the contract CON-SNT-ASA5506K and got the message that the contract was created. What's next? What did I have to do to be able to share the license?

The same AnyConnect licenses can be installed on multiple ASAs IF they are current style AnyConnect Plus or Apex licenses and there is a current AnyConnect term license in effect. That's because those licenses are per unique user and not per ASA.
To do so, you should have the AnyConnect PAK available in your software.cisco.com portal under classic licenses. Once that is present, you can use self-service to get an additional activation key for the additional ASA.
If you have the older style AnyConnect licenses (Essentials or Premium), they cannot be migrated from one ASA to another except by Cisco intervention in the case of an ASA being RMAd for repair.
