I'm running OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) and added AnyConnect Mobility client. The connection works (I can use RDC to access my remote workstation) but I get a big red X in the menu icon and there is a larger status window showing AnyConnect with green check mark and Web Security with red X with message "Service is unavailable". How do I fix this so I get the AnyConnect menu icon with a lock displayed?

I suspect you installed more than the VPN client on your system. Can you check the software logs, it should give us more info about it.

I'm also using OSX 10.10 and I recently started getting this same error. When you say "check the software logs" do you mean the AnyConnect logs? Where can those be found?

On Windows client it's all in Message History, see the attachment.

I have the same problem. After upgrading to El Capitan, I started getting the "Web Security: Service unavailable" error with the red circle and white X. Under the message history for Web Security, it just says "Service unavailable", could it be a VPN certification issue?
