AnyConnect Recommendations

Morning All,

We use AnyConnect within our environment. We have been hosting it off an IOS device for about 6 years now.

We need to step up the featureset of our VPN, which includes moving it off IOS and onto the ASA (IOS has limited functionality, plus the 4000 Series ISR's do not support AnyConnect?).

I'm looking for the most cost effective method. We don't need the ASA to be an active firewall, just hosting AnyConnect functions.

The cheapest box is the 5506-X. But i've heard that FirePower has limited life span on the new 9.10 release train, this makes me think it is going EOL soon?

What options do I have, what license model do I need?

We're looking at, tops of 30 concurrent connections.

My thanks for your help.

Hi Tim,

RV340 series router is one of the best option, it supports anyconnect and supports upto 50 connection.

Hi,
A 4000 series router does support Remote Access VPN, you can configure FlexVPN (IKEv2/IPSec VPN) which can be used with AnyConnect.
Firepower does not have a limited life span, this is the latest NGFW from Cisco. The old ASA hardware/software may/will probably have a limited life span, but I don't believe it has been annouced yet. Even so it should still be supported for years to come.
