Hello,
After the client auto-updated to 4.9.04053 it started crashing every time I connect to a VPN gateway.
This is the call stack from the dumps:
ntdll!RtlReportFatalFailure+0x16 ntdll!RtlReportCriticalFailure+0x84 ntdll!RtlpReportHeapFailure+0x2f ntdll!RtlpHpHeapHandleError+0x89 ntdll!RtlpLogHeapFailure+0x43 ntdll!RtlpFreeHeapInternal+0xfa ntdll!RtlFreeHeap+0x46 AcLayers!NS_FaultTolerantHeap::APIHook_RtlFreeHeap+0x40c combase!CRetailMalloc_Free+0x1b oleaut32!APP_DATA::FreeCachedMem+0x226bd oleaut32!SysFreeString+0x41 oleaut32!VariantClearWorker+0xf9 oleaut32!VariantClear+0x20 vpnagentutilities!CVirtualAdapter::setIPAddressForVAViaWMI2+0x5bd vpnagentutilities!CVirtualAdapter::setIPAddressForVA+0x42 vpnagentutilities!CVirtualAdapter::EnableVA+0x31f vpnagent+0x541ba vpnagent+0x5ef02 vpnagent+0x35379 vpnagent+0x3729a
Could you please let me know if this is a known issue and if there is any workaround for it?
Thank you,
Bogdan

Hi Bogdan,
This would need more info than what is shared (e.g. DART logs, dump file info, client hardware/OS, if its a standalone VPN client or NAM is installed, upgrade from which version, any conflicting third party apps installed/upgraded).
It'd be best to open a TAC case to diagnose further.
Thank you,
Dinesh Moudgil

Hi @Dinesh Moudgil ,
Thank you for taking the time to look into this.
Could you please tell me what implies opening a TAC case? ... not sure what you mean by that.
Thank you,
Bogdan

Hi Bogdan,
You can open a Technical Assistance Center (TAC) support case with Cisco to report this issue and they can assist you with troubleshooting further:
Here is a link for your reference:

Thank you,
