Anyconnect & WinXp Vbox (Win7 host) connection attempt has failed

Dear all 

I am not an expert of vpn & so... I will try to explain the problem .

I have a win7 host, and installed a win7 vbox, with anyconnect. The VPN connection works perfectly.

Due to ram use i prefer to use an Xp vbox instead. I tried to install xp on Vbox, and anyconnect too. But i am not able, after all, to connect. It sais "connection attempt has failed". Same on Windows virtual pc in Xp mode.

And .. I have NO antivirus installed yet, and yes, i have added anyconnect in the exception list of windows firewall , i have also disabled windows firewall, but no way.

Can somebody help me ?

There are a couple of reasons that can cause that.

One very likely is that the encryption with 3DES is disabled on the central ASA to which you try to connect. Ask you Network administrator if that's the case. If yes, then XP is out of the game and you should use Win7 or newer.
