AP340 seems to prevent VPN session

I have an AP340 at home. I have a DSL connection to the internet. While wire-connected to my home network, I can establish a VPN connection to work without a problem. When I try to access using the 340, I get authenticated, then the VPN client stops at the message "securing communication channel". I have a linksys router and have checked that IPSec is allowed (obviously works because copper connection lets me through). The AP340 is running 11.21 ios. Any suggestions?

Try adjusting the mtu to a lower value, until you get successful connection.

I have set the MTU as low as 128, using the "Set MTU" icon under the VPN client. Still unable to establish tunnel.
