Azure CSR1000v Branch Router In On-Prem DMVPN

Hello all,

I was wondering if it's possible to put a CSR1000v in Azure and connect it to an existing on-prem DMVPN set up?

Any documentation I find shows the use of a transit DMVPN cloud in between various vNETs and the on-prem solution. We will only have two servers out in the cloud and don't require something that complicated/advanced and in the document it states that GRE is unsupported. The document I read was: "Cisco CSR 1000v Deployment Guide for Microsoft Azure".

My plan was to stick a router out in Azure, configure it as a DMVPN branch, and have it connected to two (maybe even one) Azure vNETs with a server in each vNET to establish on-prem connections to these servers. Looks like it might not work that way.

If this doesn't work, then we'll need to look into other options.

Any help/guidance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you
