Break Signal not working on cisco 2950 switch

Helloo.

 I am trying to reset the password of Cisco catalyst 2950 series switch. connected to my laptop via console cable (which is prolific PL2303 chipset supported) and at the boot time I pressed CTRL + BREAK from my keyboard, it does not respond and keep its POST. then tried special command >> break using putty , still the same. It seems not recognize the break signal. Baud rate is 9600 and Am I doing anything wrong here ?

Hi,

On the Cat 2950, you don't type the break sequence, you just have to hold the "mode" button on the front of the switch whilst it's booting.
