cannot map drives to my servers after I vpn in

having problem mapping drives from network neighborhood when I vpn in. I can only map a drive using IP but cannot using UNC. also, how can I see my novell servers too. I am running Cisco pix 515E version 6.33 Please Help.

Try these tips:

1. Insure that the proper wins and dns servers, as well as the dns domain is being handed down to the vpn client. If the client is an ms win workstation, after connecting issue the ipconfig /all command.

2. Insure that the ms client for ms networks is enabled on the virtual adapter created by the vpn client software. For a ms win 2000 workstation, right-click on Net and Dial-up Conn, select properties, and usually the virtual adapter is the Local Area Connection 2 entry.

3. How do you connect to the Novell servers? Are you using IP or IPX? With IP, again insure that the Novell Client, if you use it is enabled on the virtual adapter.
