Cisco 877 as VPN server

hi ,

I am trying to configure cisco 877 ADSL router as vpn server , so that multiple site can login to cisco 877 ADSL router. Is it possible to achieve that. If so what is the procedure and if possible please copy the documentation URL here.

Hi Siva,

You can use the 877 as VPN endpoint (as long as running a proper IOS)

This example shows how to configure the 877 for terminating IPsec remote access client connections:

The document uses a Radius server for user authentication, however other methods exist, like the local database on the router itself.

Sure you can.

In IPsec implementations you can use the 877 as an EzVPN server (which terminates VPN connections for remote clients), or you can use it as a peer, to terminate Site-to-Site VPN connections.

Defintely, you can have another 877 at the other end and create a Site-to-Site tunnel.

Sorry for the late response. Is there any definitive documentation regarding configuring ezvpn server on cisco 877 router. Also do I need RADIUS server to achieve this. I am new to ezyvpn server concept . Please ignore my ignorance here if any.

Here is sample configuration for IOS Easy VPN server and client in Network Extension mode:

The sample config uses local authentication, you can always change it to use radius authentication.
