as i have read, to enable cisco anyconnect for mobile(IPAD) , i need two licenses:

AnyConnect Essentials  and  AnyConnect for Mobile , is that correct?

if i want to enable this just for 10 users , can i do that ? what are the available license that i should select per user numbers per year (or more than year?)

my final question can i get these licenses from Amazon, since google shows like these offers.

please help thank you

AnyConnect Essentials and Mobile are not available any more. You have two options:

  • AnyConnect PLUS which is licensed per authorized User (not concurrent) and this license can also be transferred to your next ASA (5510 is EOL soon).
  • VPN-Only license which is licensed for your gateway and concurrent users. This license is not transferable when you replace your ASA.

You can buy these from the Cisco Partner of your choice. I wouldn't consider Amazon as such, but perhaps there is one on Amazon Marketplace.

I would go for the plus-license. It's much cheaper then the VPN-Only-license and you can continue using it when you change the ASA to a newer model.

thanks a lot

do you mean that old cisco essentials and for mobile are now included in either AnyConnect PLUS or VPN-Only license?

secondly i didn't get what do you mean with "not concurrent" , as concurrent understood i can create hundred of users but only 25 licensed users can use the cisco anyconnect at the same time , so what do you mean with "not concurrent"?

thank you very much for your help

Mobile is always included with any of the new VPN-licenses. The replacement for AnyConnect essentials is either the VPN-Only or AnyConnect Plus.

Licensing of Plus and Apex: Imagine you have 10.000 users and all of them use the VPN, but never more then 25 at the same time. In the "concurrent" licensing you need 25 licenses. With Plus or Apex you need 10.000 licenses. Sounds like a bad deal? Well, you only need this license once per deployment regardless of the amount of ASAs you have.

Just calculate what is cheaper for you.

Actually i want just 15 concurrent users and 50 non concurrent  users

and we have cluster firewall (Active /Passive)

what is your advise ? plus or vpn only (user range=25-99)

I would go for the plus-license. It's much cheaper then the VPN-Only-license and you can continue using it when you change the ASA to a newer model.

Appreciated .....

thank you for your answers...
