I'm researching a problem we are experiencing with our iPads and Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client for the iPad. We have the On-Demand VPN feature turned on and it will start a vpn connection from within the Jabber app (although it can be intermittent at times) but only if the Cisco AnyConnect VPN is manually turned on for the first time. From then on it will trigger the On-Demand feature. Is there a way to have this work from a fresh reboot without having to go into the vpn client and manually turn on the vpn connection? The software versions on the iPad are below.
Cisco AnyConnect = 3.0.09231
Cisco Jabber video for iPad = 9.3.4 (21626)
iPad ios = 7.0.4
Any thoughts?
Update:
We were informed that with iOS 7 the environment must be configured with FQDNs instead of ip addresses. Once the vendor added DNS services to their internal network, we reconfigured AnyConnect to use FQDNs in the "Connect if Needed" section within AnyConnect. As well as making sure "Connect On-Demand" was enabled in both Jabber and AnyConnect. Currently it is working on the first attempt within Jabber after power cycling the iPad.
