Cisco Anyconnect version 4.10.02086 does not work with macOS Monterey

Hi there,

I have scoured the internet for help with this issue:  Cisco Anyconnect version 4.10.02086 does not work with macOS Monterey 12.6

Our team upgraded to Monterey masOS and boom, Cisco AnyConnect stopped working. We are trying to get AnyConnect to work with smartcards. 

 We have tried every tweak that we have seen on the internet for these errors: The VPN connection failed due to unsuccessful domain name resolution.  No amount of tweaking the DNS works.

If I add the Google DNS, for example, I just get the AnyConnect cannot confirm it is connected to your secure gateway error message.

I have tried older versions of AnyConnect.  I have removed the keychain certs and readded them.  

Surely someone out there has some answers!  Pulling my hair out at this point.

Are you able to download and perform a local install of Secure Client (new name for AnyConnect) 5.0.00556? That's the latest version. In the 4.x release, 4.10.06079 is the latest.

I have a MacBook with Monterey running AnyConnect 4.10.05111 and it works fine.

 

Cisco Secure Client 5.0.00556 New Features

This release adds macOS and Linux support to Cisco Secure Client (including AnyConnect), which initially only released with Windows support. 

 

Edit - I updated to the 5.x release and it also works fine.

Hi Marvin,

Thank you for your suggestion.  We tried this new version of Anyconnect (now called secure client) and were not successful.  There are others in our group that have the same issue so it is perplexing and frustrating!  Issue might be related to keychain certificates.

Hi Marvin,

Thank you for responding.  We will work with our agency to download the latest client.  In the meantime I have tried every possible tweak to get AnyConnect 4.10.05111 and Monterey to work and am surprised to see you have had no trouble, but happy that you didn't struggle.  I am assuming that the client worked right away.  Fingers crossed that the latest client works for us.
