Cisco vpn 3060 with High CPU

Hi,

We have a vpn3060 4.0.5 code, 512MB memory and E-SEP modules. We have about 600 client sites mostly with PIX 501 running in NEM. We continue to get high cpu and slow network performance when 500 or so clients are connected. According the specs I have 5000 max conncurent connections on the VPN concentrator.

Does anyone have a similar setup where they expeirnce high CPU on the concentraor ? How many clients can actully connect on a 3060 ?

Any info would be appriciated.

Marc

Are you running any dynamic routing protocols on the 3060? In particular are you using OSPF or RIP Reverse Route Injection (RRI) between the 3060 and routers behind it?

Are you using the 3060 to act as a DHCP server?

How many SEP modules do you have installed? If more than one, does the 3060 allow all clients to use any sep card, or are you manually trying to load-balance among the different clients (some groups use card1, some use card2, etc.)?
