Hi all,

I've been experiencing a few problems vpning into one of our sites. I'm using cisco vpn client 5.0.02 and connecting through a PIX. When I enabled split tunnelling I couldn't ping any servers by name, but I could by IP address. When I ping a server over the vpn by name I get replies from the ip address of our externally hosted web server. If I ping the ip address of the server it replies normally. When I disable split tunnelling on the PIX it all works normally. Any ideas?

Check your DNS settings, When you are trying to ping an internal server name with split tunneling - you will try and resolve an internal name with a internet DNS server - won't work.
