I have a cisco asa 5505 appliance. I have set up an ipsec connection for remote user to connect to it and all traffic is routed to the vpn gateway.
Therefore the vpn server acts like a proxy to the vpn clients. IP compression is enabled on the appliance.
I have been analysing the traffic traces (both the encrypted and unencrypted traffic) and i noticed that some of the incoming vpn traffic to the client is not compressed.
My questions:
1) Does the incoming and outgoing traffic from the vpn client be always compressed?
2) Is that a way for me to monitor the compression stats?
