Hello,
Just want to know if both are the of the same protocol but implemented via different means? Is it possible for both to co-exist?

Both Cisco and Microsoft have implemented VPN technologies in their products. But there is no "Cisco VPN" or "Microsoft VPN". You really have to be more specific here.

Hello Kaesten,
I have been reading the Microsoft study guide and have reached the chapter of VPN. It talks about configuring a RRAS server on windows server and then configure it to accept dial in or vpn connection (which you have to configure on your laptop under Network and Sharing Center) into the server and beyond into the rest of the resources in the network. Nothing was mentioned about the setup on router or firewall.
Then on the other hand we have tons of tutorial of setting up VPN on the router side and using cisco client to connect to it. Nothing was mentioned about configuring any windows server. Both methods more or less accomplish the same thing - gaining access into the server/network. So I wonder, are they mutually exclusive?
