Citrix over VPN = Very Slow?!

I have a customer that is running a VPN link with a PIX 501 at each end. A remote office of about 5 users is connecting to a Citrix server at head office through the VPN tunnel, and they are basically getting very bad performance.

We have tried all the usual pings and traceroutes etc and cant find much out of the ordinary.

Any ideas to throw my way for things to look out for?

Is this a good way of doing it, or would there be a better way?

Hi Mark,

Probably a little late, but we've got a similar situation, PIX 501 to a PIX 506 VPN and Citrix from the 501 office.

I've noticed a minimal slowdown when going over the VPN. I've got an office of 8 people, 4 each on VPN and connecting over the internet. The VPN clients are a shade slower than the internet clients, and they probably don't notice a difference at all.
