DMVPN questions

Hi,

I have a few questions about DMVPN:

- Can I use RIP as the routing protocol ? Is there any config samples ?

(most references are about ospf/eigrp)

- I have a network with xDSL lines on L2. I use Cisco 831 routers which are directly connected via L2. So, I don't need the GRE tunnel, but I want to use DMVPN for consistancy and simplicity. However, I have a problem that the GRE tunnels don't initiate before I ping with gre tunnel ip's. Is there a limitation with DMVPN or GRE when the routers are interconnected on the same subnet ?

regards rolf

Rolf,

Yes, you can use RIP as routing protocol in the scenario mentioned. Please go to www.cisco.com, click on technology support under Technical support, choose security related options and see for the relevant document.
