Hello,
I have a user that is using a pptp vpn internal connection to an external server. Does the firewall scan this type of traffic and therefore slow it down
Thanks in advance

Hi,
If you have PPTP inspection enabled on the ASA then it will inspect the PPTP connections passing through the ASA:

But that does not mean it will slow down the connections, it may induce some latency.

Aditya

Not related to your original question, but still important: You should not use PPTP any longer.
