I need to connect to my office, but I cannot due to Cisco update, which fails:
Failed to install AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client 4.5.03040 with installer error:
Fatal error during installation.
A VPN connection cannot be established.
Kudos to the developers for making the error copyable!
I dug deeper in the event logs, this is what I get:
Beginning a Windows Installer transaction: C:\Windows\TEMP\Cisco\Installer\63573DB\WinSetup-Release-web-deploy.msi. Client Process Id: 11292.
Product: Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client -- Error 1714.
The older version of Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group. System Error 1612.
Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client. Product Version: 4.5.03040. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Cisco Systems, Inc.. Installation success or error status: 1603.
That's not very helpful. Judging from the google search results, the error 1714 plagues other software too.
So, what do I do now? I didn't ever change any settings in Cisco, I use it the way it was given to me when I received the company laptop.
Funny enough, I also had to register second account to post this question because my business email is only accessible with VPN which does not work.
