Help with VPN 3.6.1 access thru a D-LINK router !

I have Cisco VPN clinet (3.6.1) that works when I am connected directly

to a cable modem.

However, when I go thru the D-link Di-614+ router, I get the

following message(s) in the connection history of the dialer.

Initializing the connection...

Contacting the gateway at 199.250.21.165...

Authenticating user...

Negotiating security policies...

Remote peer terminated connection.

In the IPSEC Log viewer, I see the message:

1 15:33:59.750 01/01/03 Sev=Warning/3 DIALER/0xE3300008

GI VPNStart callback failed "CM_IKE_RECEIVED_DELETE_NOTIFICATION" (15h).

My setting are:

windows 2000 SP3

Enable Transparent Tunneling

Use IPSEC over TCP (NAT/PAT/Firewall)

Authentication thru a

Digital Certificate (Cisco)

The router is supposed to allow IPSec pass thru and D-Link support had the following to say:

These VPNs do not require ports to be opened to work through a router.

Enable Nat Transparency on the client VPN software.

If any of these are using IPSec (AH), it will not and cannot work

through NAT.

How do I find if I am using IPSec(AH) ?

How can I resolve this issue ?

Any help/pointers appreciated.

Thanks.

hi there

Cisco VPN client 3. does not support AH at all. So you should not worry about it.

GI VPNStart callback failed "CM_IKE_RECEIVED_DELETE_NOTIFICATION" (15h), means that the other side of the VPN tunnel terminated the connection. Enable the proper debugs on the other side of the tunnel, and find out why it is sending a delete message
