How To Port Forward To Stream Audio - SA540

Hello,

If anyone could provide a detailed, step-by-step process on how to set-up port forwarding so I can stream audio outside of the local network I would greatly appreciate it.

I took over a small radio ministry and am trying to get streaming started.

I am able to access our radio computer on the local network by inputting the computer's IP address and port into iTunes.

Currently, I am unable to access the same stream outside the network.

I know I need to change settings and enable port forwarding, but I need help.

I thought I had updated/changed the proper settings, but it will not work.

If anyone can help, please provide details as to what I need to do from start to finish.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Thanks for the fast response.  I will follow the guide and see if the FTP will work.

My personal computer is a MAC.  The radio computer is a weird hybrid running something call Haiku.  (I didn't pick it as it was already there when I arrived).

Hello,

as far as I know, Apple has Apple Remote Desktop (ARD) which uses TCP port 5900. You can also use VNC, which uses the same port. Either way, the procedure to open the port is exactly the same as you did for the streaming audio...

Within the network I am able to use FileZilla and access the radio computer from a different computer.

Once I return home I will see if the updates have worked and if I am able to connect remotely.

What "services" should I select to access the FTP and remote desktop?

FTP is a standard service you can select from the list, for ARD or VNC, you will have to create a custom service:

Check page 104 'Creating Custom Services':

It's working ! I can hear the stream !
