I read that IPSEC is not supported on Sup720 Native IOS with out the vpn module. Is this true of all versions. I am running the latest code.
I have the problem get vpn to work across 6504 Sup720----3845.
I get Unable to allocate IKE SA

Yes it's true. You can use IPSEC to actually manage the 6500 switch itself without a vpn module but if you want to create IPSEC tunnels for user data then you need a VPN Module/adapter card.

Yes Cecil. You are absolutely correct.
You can't terminate VPN tunnel on SUP720 without VPN SPA module if you want to pass data traffic.
The only thing that can be configured is VPN to manage the SUP720 itself.
