Hello All,

Our users vpn to our network and are not enabled for split tunnel. The internet link at office is 100Mbps.

Some of the users have complained that they only get less speeds even though they are going through our corporate 100Mbps internet.

Is the internet speed via vpn in this case available for users once they connect to vpn or is the internet speed still relies on their own home internet connection(which may be around 10Mbps)?

Sure you are virtually connected from home to office.

If the internally speed limited that is the maximum user can go from his VPN conencted device.

But user has jump box, which can give 100MB speed if the link has full avialable.

Hi @suthomas1 

The users connection is only as fast as the slowest link, so if their home network connection is 10Mbps then that is the maximum they could download through the VPN.

You can ensure the users are getting the best performance by using IKEv2/IPSec or DTLS 1.2, you would need to be running ASA version 9.10 or greater and AnyConnect 4.7 or greater.

So irrespective of how big the internet pipe (via vpn), the actual user speed will always be only as fast as their own home connection. is that correct? one of the tech guys was arguing with me in office that because the user is over vpn(without spli tunnel), user will be able to get more speed as corporate internet is fat pipe.

yes, you are correct, take an example, how big your Motorway, still your inside lines are small to reach the motorway for the speed to pick up.

Correct, if they are tunnelling all traffic over the VPN, it's their local connection to the office headend that dictates the speed.
