Is cisco vpn client supported on analog ppp connection

can someone pls tell me whether we can use cisco vpn client on a analog ppp connection and terminate it on a pix which is not running ppp . if this works then why do we need L2tp/ipsec vpns. can someone pls tell me something abt this. it;s very urgent.

If this is a dialup connection to an ip network as is the case with dialup internet connections, the ppp is only used to support the packet networking and is not a factor in the application of a Cisco VPN client connecting to the pix. Once dialed up, and you have an ip address, IP connectivity is al that is needed to begin the process of establishing the ipsec session that the VPN client uses.
